A lot of options to choose from of course. To me personally, I would suggest going the commuting option and establishing ourselves in a different area than our area of operations.

While we didn’t get much warning, that was to be expected, we didn’t prepare for the fact that the pirates would betray our location and that the Hegemony would get ships there this fast.

If we establish ourselves in the Ibroan system we remove ourselves once again from our main area of operations which is a good thing. If we stay in Drenan after an attack, they will probably highten patrols and find us faster.

Of course the mobile base is also an option to take into consideration, like Lt. Yooey described.

Pierce looks up from his own data pad, quickly sending the map of Onwia to the lager screen

Well as you can see, there is a military base in Onwia III, which could contain the information we are looking for. Furthermore we could take a look at the logs of the Onwia gate to make sure we are not noticed.

Also when it comes to pirates, it might be a good idea to look for their base, know where they are coming from and maybe even forge alliances, something Lieutenant Sketch also suggested before I believe

With a simple push of the button the large screen is now empty again

I concur that this is not the only reaction possible from the Hegemony but I do think it’s the most likely.

A mounted offensive could be a good idea but I personally think we should keep that until the end of our mission here, a final offensive so to speak.

For the results thus far, I hope an ONI report might give more info on that

Edward takes a step forward, on his open palm, half reading and half speaking to the room.

Sir, before we start with this weeks topics i would like to repeat an idea I had for disrupting the flow of traffic in Drenan. We could lock the gates from this side, if we do that to all of them, it would heavily disrupt the flow of vessels going to the front.

We would have to lock Onwia gate as one of the first ones and would have to build in a backdoor for us to quickly activate and deactivate it. The reason we would have to do Onwia gate first is because the Hegemony is going to assume we will flee through the last gate we get to, before locking it. This would also make the Hegemony search the system we were last in instead of Onwia.

When it comes to this week’s topics, i feel as if we are doing quite well disrupting the Hegemony’s activity here. I am very curious as to what effect our trick with the whale beacons have done for us so far.

He looks around the room for reactions and then takes a step back

//I’m aware that this is for last week but i have a suggestion that could turn into a mission for next week so…

Another suggestion would be to lock all the gates. We would have to build in a backdoor for us to use the onwia gate (like a garage door back on earth).

It would be important to start with the onwia gate on this because the last one we lock will probably be the one the Hegemony is going to try and search for us next.

But locking the gates would severly reduce the travel to and from the system thus disrupting quite a lot of business and military operations.

Though this could also backfire and create a pressure cooker envoirenment for us in the Drenan system. And that could lead to heavier opposition on further missions.

Using pirate vessels would be a good idea if it were not for the point i have brought up before. If they have indeed destroyed the pirate base then where would we come from? This would make it more likely that the Hegemony would scout out near systems, and thus would probably find our base of operations sooner.

I think the rebel idea does have more merrit in this case. But where we would get the ships is something I don’t have the answer to.

Personally I also want to reinforce the idea for starting near the Ibroan gate, and working our way through the system as suggested earlier by various officers.

Also another thing of note is the Whale Hunting in sector 4. The Arvonians are part of the Hegemony. Arvonians are known to love space whales, and would rather fight you to the death then let you live when you hurt one.

I am going to assume that the Kraliens have not told the Arvonians that they hunt space whales in sector 4. If that informations ‘happens’ to make it’s way to the Arvonians, we might be able to drive a wedge between the forces, weakening the Hegemony considerably.

Something else I’d like to note that might hook unto something just said. During the shift we visited Sector 10, where a pirate base was located. However I believe we could not locate it on this latest visit.

If the pirate base has been destroyed, that might mean that our cover as pirates is no longer believable and it might already have been discovered who we really are.

Taking a step forward, his pad in hand

There are mining stations in Sector 1 and Sector 3 which might be good target’s, that would hinder the Hegemony from building ships and weapons.

If we want to demoralize them, i would suggest taking out the whale hunting in Sector 4.

And I also have another topic i’d like to bring up sir? While we were destroying the sensor arrays in Drenan 12, we caught a transmission coming from the Hegemony Command station Dred Falsu. It was a message to someone or something called The Burning Fist (or something similar, i would have to check my logs).

They seemed to be talking about freedom and having hit something good.

Might there be any intel on an entity called The Burning Fist? If it is a Rebel group, we might be able to take advantage of that? That would undermine the Hegemony from within.

Edward takes a step back again and begins checking his logs

Edward takes a step forward again, addressing everyone in the meeting

Talking about false signals, would it be possible to make make a fake base like structure that could move about the system undetected except when needed to transmit signals? We could place something like that on the other side of the system and activate it when we need to draw attention away from the location of our base?

I do agree with Lieutenant Raiden, the size and shape of the nebulae also makes it easier for the Hegemony to sneak up on the base, which would be a bad thing of course. Might there be a way for us to use the sensors of the base to make it easier for us to spot someone within the nebulae within the sector we place ourselves in? Our ships already share sensor readings with eachother, is there a way for us to extend it to something else like the station or a buoy of some kind?

Having verbalized his ideas, Edward takes a step back again

Sirs, Sector 9 also seems promising, especially if we decide to go the route of only loose transport vessels. In case of problems they can move through the nebula corewards to try and escape the problem. This might make it easier to move about the system too.

Edward Pierce is sitting in the room, listening to the Fleet Captain

Sorry sir, i don’t know about the new intel concerning the mission but i do have a suggestion to make.

Seeing as there are a lot of pirates in the vicinity, we might be able to spoof our own communications to work through the same frequencies that the pirates use. That way, any comm chatter from us might be perceived as coming from the pirate ships.

That might give us an extra layer of protection. A veil of mystery so to speak.
