Yeah!!! What the hell happened while we were at Armada??? Xavier getting a court marshal over destroying a secret TSN weapon? And did I hear something in the bar forum about the Phoenix being gone??? Someone send me a recap, please!!! I need to know when it’s my Captain and my ship that were involved!
11/04/2016 at 18:01 #6934XavierKeymasterI think I recall asking comms to tell the crew to evacuate. I also sent across a message to command. The other neitral ships turned hostilr as a result until I surrendered my command.
11/04/2016 at 19:07 #6939John van LeighParticipantThe Phoenix thing was my fault. Got into a close encounter with Caltrons, tried to pull out when it proved too tough, got warp shot and no ship was in any shape to asist. Spent the rest of the mission in lifepods, including Xavier’s incident, but I’m waiting for ONI to find out what happened to the wreck.
11/04/2016 at 19:17 #6941MatsiyanParticipantWhich sector was Phoenix in when she went down? Was it the one devastated by the Weapon?
Even if the physical ship is gone, I personally would agitate to have the name transferred to a new hull. It is a name that should never be allowed to die. If anyone in the pods has anything remaining from the original vessel, that should become part of the dedication plaque for the new one.
11/04/2016 at 19:24 #6943Gabriel WadeParticipantSo what’s the status of each event? Xavier has been ordered to relinquish command of the Raven because he ordered the destruction of a TSN secret weapon and now is about to stand trial for court-martial? And is the Phoenix destroyed permanently or is she being rebuilt?
11/04/2016 at 19:59 #6945XavierKeymasterI ordered the destruction of the ship that carried the research data collected. After it was destroyed, I relinquished command as to Fish and surrendered my ship to the TSN. Gebbens took over command of the Raven and I was arrested.

11/04/2016 at 20:16 #6949MatsiyanParticipantYes.
🙂 I was tempted to leave it at that.
The division escorted an R&D flottila to a remote and uninhabited sector for a test firing of a new weapon. The detonation of the weapon coincideed with the appearance of a black hole and numerous Caltrons and was followed by a billowing wave of spatio-temporal instability (represented on our sensors as dense circular clusters of mines that blanketed all space spreading out from the anomaly) that spread at sub-light speed throughout the sector and even followed us into the next sector as we and the Caltrons engaged in a running fight ahead of it.
At some point in the fight with the Caltrons, the overzealous Phoenix went down and Aposine at the helm of Lancer picked them up in an outstanding display of high precision, high velocity piloting. Matsiyan does not recall in which sector that occurred. So I do not know if the wreck of the Phoenix is recoverable or was blanketed by the effects of The Weapon.
Having destroyed or discouraged the Caltrons, the division returned to forward command. Fleet Captain Xavier made an announcement over fleetwide broadcast to the effect that he could not sanction the existence of such a weapon, as at the very least it was too dangerous to be allowed to fall into enemy hands. If I recall there was an appeal for any strong objections but before any such were successfully relayed through bridge commanders The Raven opened fire on The Weapon. The vessels in the weapon’s flotilla became hostile to Raven and were also destroyed. Captain Xavier stood down as commander of both Raven and the DIvision pending due process. That announcement should have been recorded by CIC.
11/04/2016 at 21:03 #6956Gabriel WadeParticipantThank you for the detailed recap Matsiyan. I’m grateful to have been on “Special Assignment” at Armada II, however I’m sorry I missed such major events. I’ll have to be prepared for my (Wade’s) reaction upon return to duty.
I can tell you this much, I will staunchly defend Xavier’s character and actions. Having served under his command for 2 years I have never seen him make a decision without sound reasoning behind it, and as far as a weapon with destructive power of that magnitude should not be developed or used, for many reasons I’d rather state in character, should we do a verbal role play on TS or through whatever other forum we would use.
11/04/2016 at 22:50 #6974Adele MundyParticipant// Strange mix of in character and OOC responses in this thread, hence the // to make this clear…
//@Aramond, I was thinking along the lines of legal proceedings, not any sort of underhand stuff, so either some RP over teamspeak, or a dedicated thread. The latter would take longer, which is realistic because a trial would take months, but is not terribly helpful from a playing perspective.
//@Matsiyan, the escort ships turned hostile as Eagle attacked and destroyed the vessel that was carrying the Weapon, but the ships themselves were not attacked, let alone destroyed.
11/04/2016 at 23:00 #6980MatsiyanParticipant// Was it Eagle or Raven that fired on the Weapon data ship? I am guessing you misspoke as Eagle is your normal berth.
My apologies, I saw the three escort vessels wink out on my display and assumed they had been nuked. That may have been a sensor glitch or they may have fled the sector.
11/04/2016 at 23:32 #6993Blaze StrifeParticipantYeah, this is an OOC thread, so let’s keep it OOC.
I propose we hold the trial on TS, on the next duty shift. Since our stardates are arbitrary, we have no idea how long the shift or the timeskip between them took. We can say that the process lasted from 10416-2237 all the way to 16416-2237. How long is that? The players know it’s a week, but the charaters know it’s something else, whatever suits the story. This is all already part of the process: collecting witnesses.
The escort vessels became red and then dissappeared, with no fleet ships near them.
@GabrielWade My character will also testify on the charater of the Fleet Captain, as well as the dangers of the weapon.11/04/2016 at 23:45 #6997John van LeighParticipant//Please mind that this is just brainstorming, and acting fleet captain Fish is yet to give his opinion on the matter. My own comments are not a reflection of any stance or approval of the senior staff, and only display my personal opinions. Thus, is too soon to decide upon a date. Or even to know if there’s gonna be a trial or if it is just a matter of an admiral making a post detailing the results.
With that out of the way, I think I can keep character and play the accusing party fairly easy. But then again, it may be a conflict of interests with the notion of the dangers of the weapon, as my own role as Phoenix’s acting CO makes me a witness of those risks.
12/04/2016 at 05:22 #7003Adele MundyParticipant@Matsiyan, you’re right, it was Raven. I’m so used to being on Eagle, I wrote the wrong name.
