TSN Veritas Impulse Drive

The Veritas impulse drive is most military grade impulse engine fitted to TSN ships. It allows ships to manoeuvre at sub-light speeds. The drive is versatile enough to be used in a range of configurations, with additional systems being added to increase the drive output, particularly on smaller scout ships, allowing more efficient operation or increased speeds.

Operation

TSN Veritas Impulse Drive

Plasma is fed to the impulse drive after being cycled through the ship reactor (1) via plasma conduits. The plasma is then fed through a series of mass driver coils that increase the velocity of the plasma (2). Next, the plasma makes it to the coagulation coils were it is transformed from its liquid state into a gaseous state (3). This gaseous plasma is released into space via the expansion nozzle (4) where it expands and pushes the impulse drive forward (4). To steer the drive, vector thrust plates (5) direct the matter leaving the expansion nozzle.
