TSN Raven (CB-014)
2nd Fleet, 4th Light Division//Sorry gang, life’s a little busy the next few weeks. I’ve updated the Google Doc with the list of absences, are we still using that?
12/09/2016 at 14:54 #16080Blaze StrifeParticipant//I’m not sure we do, but @delPino might include it in the existing form that encompasses it all.
12/09/2016 at 14:56 #16083MatsiyanParticipant// I added three upcoming absences for myself and Mundy. Rare cultural outreach and a wedding.
12/09/2016 at 15:23 #16085John van LeighParticipantEhm… I’m not sure. We do have an attendance-tracking sheet in use, but that’s just for the numbers.
Regarding Blaze’s idea, I don’t plan to add it because keeping track of it with the same form would be overcomplicated. It’d add >20 submissions per week to track attendance, and even then the spreadsheet for General Requests isn’t prepared for that.
12/09/2016 at 15:35 #16087Blaze StrifeParticipant//I was talking about adding Request for leave or Absence notification, not DO’s tracking.
12/09/2016 at 16:01 #16089John van LeighParticipantThe problem is that not all absences are reported beforehand. So you have
1. People who are here on time as expected and don’t report anything.
2. People who are here on time because they were able to join despite reporting an absence (meaning that people from reported absences have to be tracked).
3. People who are absent and reported so, which is great.
4. People who are absent without leave.Reporting your absence is useful because it helps planning, and when you have a permanent assignment is the polite thing to do. But formalizing the reports are a lot of work.
12/09/2016 at 16:14 #16091Blaze StrifeParticipant//I see, you are right.
12/09/2016 at 18:08 #16095MatsiyanParticipant// Yes. I don’t think this should be formalized with an RP form, it is just a useful reference if people indicate when they will be away. It might be nice to have a pinned post with the link or something.
17/09/2016 at 18:51 #16151DraecoParticipantTo that end, if you didn’t see my posts in the Bar thread, I will not be able to attend either today or next shift. RL just isn’t cooperating!
22/09/2016 at 17:04 #16241MatsiyanParticipantMundy and Matsiyan will be absent this coming shift.
Absence list updated
01/10/2016 at 15:59 #16428MatsiyanParticipantMatsiyan and Mundy will only be available for the first two and a half hours of this shift then we have been assigned to escort a visiting specialist on a comms systems transmission effectiveness test.
10/10/2016 at 18:41 #16675QuinnParticipantThis shift will be another tough one for me, I’m travelling for work this weekend. I’ll either be late or won’t be able to attend at all, depending on how things shake out.
24/10/2016 at 11:12 #17151Charles BeaumontParticipantI’m expecting to be absent on the 5th of November.
24/10/2016 at 14:35 #17160MatsiyanParticipantAbsence list updated. Matsiyan and Mundy will be away 51116 and 121116.
24/10/2016 at 15:13 #17168Matthew VajParticipantI’m facing a dilemma:
This coming weekend Thom and the other people who have helped to develop Artemis are having a party to beta-test the next release. It’s a six-hour drive to get there. It goes from 4 pm EST on Saturday (which is when the TSN duty shift starts) until around midnight. I have to be back home by 10:00 am Sunday morning.Pros:
– I get to meet Thom and a bunch of other people (I think Greybeard said he was going).
– I get to play artemis for hours on end.
– I get to check out the newest version of artemis before most people do.Cons:
– Its a six-hour drive (twice).
– I’ll miss the TSN duty shift.
– I won’t get much sleep Saturday night.Anyone have thoughts/opinions/suggestions/comments? Is anyone else going or thinking about it?
