STARDATE 26817-2237OPERATIONAL DEBRIEFING FOLLOWS….
4LD2FLT returned to Hjorden station D-46 to retrieve a USFP ambassadorial delegation, following successful talks to resolve cross-border policing cooperation procedures. The full division made a show of strength and was on alert for the remaining USF forces from Arrin. En route to the return jump gate, Hjorden stations in Sector IV issued a Mayday call for a USF incursion in strength placing five stations and numerous civilian vessels at risk. Operating with a number of Hjorden insystem defense cruisers, Sabre, Lancer, and Horizon destroyed, captured or routed half a dozen USF fleets of various strength, including a superdreadnought. During the engagement, a detachment of Kraliens entered the sector and declared for the Zolmari. A lone Caltron primary was momentarily detected before sensors were temporarily rendered inoperable by increasing radiation levels and the division docked at Hjorden stations for shelter and resupply. In the next cycle the division joined Hjorden cruisers in search and rescue missions for the lifepods of the disabled cruiser, but were interrupted by a garbled alert message from station Sierra-one-two in Sector V reporting they were being boarded. The division responded to find Skaraan auxiliaries in control and leading a large group of Kralien fleets Coreward to the Antara gate. The leading elements escaped but the remaining troop transports, capital vessels and auxiliaries were neutralized. One battleship declared allegiance for the Zolmari and one surrendered to them. A caltron fleet emerged in the middle of the engagement and was also dispatched.
The final OP of the cycle involved the Fourth Light running quick response against a renewed commerce raiding threat in Cerberus’s back sectors. The new Bloodhound sensor relays had malfunctioned and the trade lanes became vulnerable to pirate activity. Insystem Security forces were largely tied up in other sectors although a few units helped to cover the traffic from assault. The Division was successful in covering the slack and also getting the sensor relays back to full operational status.
…OPERATIONAL DEBRIEFING ENDSCURRENT FLEET INTELLIGENCE:
The most recent Zolmari refugees indicate that major expeditionary forces are being staged and they fled because they correctly surmised they were excluded due to suspect connections with former High-Commander Zolmara, a number of whose prior associates are now under surveillance. Many strange readings were recorded by Division sensors during the engagement around Sierra-One-Two. These emissions were found to have a similar resonance frequency and exotic energy composition to the artifact signatures found in ONI tests on two other devices. The detached ONI Operatives believe that another such artifact device must have been in sector shortly before the arrival of the Division.
MISSION PLANNING:
The USF task force that departed the Arrin staging area before the base was neutralized is still unaccounted for and is expected to be seeking to engage any N’tani detachments en route to Miyajeh Prime in the Euphini Expanse or to ambush fresh Zolmari refugees.Major Kralien incursions are to be expected soon. Key targets should be reinforced or prioritized for rapid response.
TACTICAL RECOMMENDATIONS:
ONI anticipates the primary engagement threats for next cycle to come from any assortment of Hegemony, USF or Caltron presence, dependent on area of operations and battlefield conditions. For the Caltrons it is recommended that weapons officers train themselves well in engaging and shooting out the heavy beamers used by the Caltrons before serious damage can be inflicted. For the more conventional foes the standard tactics apply against them. Adjust accordingly to enemy fleet strength and composition. -
