    OPERATIONAL DEBRIEFING FOLLOWS….

Having received reports of significant Kralien military chatter seeming to have hacked the gate from the Sierra system, the division deployed to Volantis Sector II. It engaged and destroyed a Kralien advance guard heading for the gate. In Volantis III it encountered a major Kralien expeditionary force endangering local stations. 4LD successfully beat them off and also a few Caltrons that turned up who were equally hostile to the Kraliens. During mop-up operations against the Caltrons, 4LD received an urgent distress call from Promethean command under major assault from Hegemony forces. Two automated weapons platforms were lost but all stations and shipyards were maintained intact, despite the presence of several command ships and major fleets. The Kraliens also deployed high-V kinetic asteroid strikes at the command base which were all either intercepted or failed to achieve a proper target lock.

As a result of recent Kralien incursions in the Arietis system, there has been an increase in pirate activity in the area which could have a significant impact to trade volume. The 4th Light Division was dispatched to patrol the system. It was also ordered to keep an eye out for any indication of TSN or ISS vessels going renegade following reports of low morale in the wake of the frequent significant Kralien raids over the last several months. During the patrol, two vessels showed indications of rogue activity, including an inactivated large carrier, and were apprehended. Multiple neutral ships were interdicted based on possible falsified cargo manifests and questionable histories of their captains. A pod of space whales was detected in Sector V, followed closely by a small group of Torgoth vessels. The division dispatched the Torgoths and requested specialists to herd the whales to the preserve in Atlantis. All pirate activity detected by the division was eliminated, and the Arietis system can now report an increased security index to civilian and corporate traffic management.

    …OPERATIONAL DEBRIEFING ENDS

    CURRENT FLEET INTELLIGENCE:

ONI Section Blue is hard at work discerning the purpose of the most recently acquired artifact and its correlation to the others. Significant headway on this has been made so far, and more is on the way.

    MISSION PLANNING:

The pirate suppression may reveal further information on the source of recent pirate activity and the surprising disaffection among Arietis ISS. Commanders should keep a watchful eye on commercial traffic analysis updates and be alert for signs of disaffection or sedition in contacts with Arietis auxiliary forces.

Section Blue may identify a target of interest in a remote or difficult location or an intercept mission requiring psychic suppression and containment equipment. Review security and operational protocols for extended joint manoeuvres with ONI assets. Note that a number of routine court martial defence strategies are specifically excluded from high security operations.

    TACTICAL RECOMMENDATIONS:

Officers should be aware that some Kralien ships have been seen to declare as Zolmari at unexpected times, including when surrounded by non-Zolmari. All reasonable efforts should be made to ensure that they are able to escape safely, once they have made themselves known.

A number of recent engagements have highlighted the importance of rapid and accurate small craft deployment. Review available bridge crew qualifications, small craft operations coordination protocols and plan crew assignment strategies in advance. In particular COs and XOs should know the appropriate procedure for requesting DZ and ExZ coordinates from CIC and keep their small craft on standby until all hangar prep is completed and CIC has issued coordinates. In the event of a protocol SNAFU the CO should radio in to CIC immediately for resolution.
