STARDATE 141017-2237OPERATIONAL DEBRIEFING FOLLOWS….
The division proceeded to the Sierra gate of the Erebus system under autopilot with orders to scout for intel on the location of the Hjorden Artifact and the Kralien temple of the Oracle. Despite stiff resistance, the fleet was able to engage and distract hostile forces while deploying marines to several stations and to a pair of command ships to extract suitable data cores for analysis. Lancer suffered minor damage when boarded from a stealthed shuttle launched from a command ship. Early analysis revealed a lot of comms traffic originating in Erebus sector VIII; the division visited the sector to perform similar reconnaissance before rendezvousing at the Sierra gate and returning to base under autopilot. A number of outlying Kralien vessels declared allegiance to the Zolmari and assisted the division in engagements against heavy opposition. The remainder of the division’s operations in the cycle were train-sims of various description, including Admiral Coates’ infamous “Vacation to Poseidon” simulation involving a difficult survival situation in the harsh rift conditions against ever-intensifying swarms of Caltrons. The Division managed to fend off the simulated Caltron waves long enough to complete the simulation successfully.
…OPERATIONAL DEBRIEFING ENDS
CURRENT FLEET INTELLIGENCE:
Section Blue confirms a target of interest in Erebus Sector VIII. Further analysis of the downloaded datacores is in progress. Intelligence will be declassified and issued to personnel once all communications have been decoded and a battle plan formed.
MISSION PLANNING:
Deep Strike Deployments into Erebus are extremely likely to retrieve highly sensitive equipment. Plan accordingly and take all necessary precautions should any exotic artifacts be included in this list.
Support for Allies such as the N’tani, Zolmari and Hjorden remain a high priority to support the significant goodwill they have displayed, and to encourage other, would-be allies.TACTICAL RECOMMENDATIONS:
Officers should be aware that some Kralien ships have been seen to declare as Zolmari at unexpected times, including when surrounded by non-Zolmari. All reasonable efforts should be made to ensure that they are able to escape safely, once they have made themselves known.
Keep the Section Blue frigate assigned as close support at least until the problems with her power generation are resolved. Suggest refocusing her long-range emitters to enable at least measurable damage to a capital ship even at the cost of lateral coverage.
