Alien Map Analysis, Ensign Rodger Wilcon, 271018-2237

This is a personal analysis of the Ancient alien map extracted from the uncharted planet in Arcturus, Sector VI B4-7, on Stardate 271018-2337. Original rendering of the ancient map found seems to correlate directly to known Arcturus space, as found here, when rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise. The map shows various Points of Interest with the notations of green markers in an alien language. Current TSN stellar cartography and the alien map seem to be very close, showing little to no shifting in the time since the alien map was compiled. Points of Interest are listed below as left to right, from the top to the bottom, relative to current TSN cartography. Notations appear constant between different coloured PoIs, leading me to believe that these notations are descriptive rather than naming.

PoI #, Alien Map Marking, TSN Map Marking, Estimated Location.

1, Blue Cloud, None, Arcturus; Sector I C2-7
2, Yellow Cloud, Green Nebula, Arcturus; Sector II C3-D4
3, Red Cloud Stripe, None, Arcturus; Sector III B/C4-B/C5, Sector IV B/C1-B/C3
4, White Dot, Planet Marker, Arcturus; Sector VI B4-7
5, Red Cloud Stripe, None, Arcturus; Sector IX B2-7-E1, Sector XIII A1
6, Yellow Cloud, Green Nebula, Arcturus; Sector X B2-C3
7, Red Cloud Stripe, None, Arcturus; Sector XI E5, Sector XII E1-E3, Sector XV A4-A5, Sector XVI A1
8, Yellow Cloud, Green Nebula, Arcturus; Sector XIV D3-7 E3-1
9, Blue Cloud, None, Arcturus; Sector XV E3-E4

The original alien map, as well as self-rendered subdivisions, are compiled here.

Current theories are that the red cloud stripes correlate to natural jump point locations, and or trajectories, and as such, it would likely be beneficial to do full scans of these areas for possible jump point locations.

Good analysis, Ensign. The red bits look particularly promising
