    SPECIAL INTELLIGENCE REPORT FOLLOWS…

After the appropriate officers reported their assigned status updates to the Group Leader, the 4th Hunter Group began attempts to return our ships to working order. Due to DamCon team casualties and damaged equipment, the ships were essentially helpless until shuttles retrieved equipment and personnel from the Grant supply ship. The Grant had been pushing its manufacturing plant systems to the limit to return itself to working order and in preparation for sending materials to the 4HG vessels. As soon as minimal sensors were functioning, the division detected what appeared to be a Terran Escort and Terran Transport exiting the sector. Systems marked the Terran ships as hostile, indicating that there are local Terran populations that are not recognized as cooperative with the ISN. CIC reported we should expect more hostiles to enter the sector soon.

Following the repairs and DAMCON equipment restock to all vessels the call was made to survey the nearby sectors for anything which may be of use. A sector was located containing a number of wrecked vessels of all different affiliations — Kralien, pirate, et cetera. While the fleet was busy fending off hostile locals, a critical discovery in the form of the abandoned industrial base Stormhold was made, and while much of the base was depressurized and irradiated it was salvageable for our needs.

    SPECIAL INTELLIGENCE REPORT ENDS…

    CURRENT GROUP INTELLIGENCE:
Our exact location within spacetime is unknown. We know we are somewhere within the Milky Way and our general operational area, but no more specific information is available at this time. Without any definitive navigational references we must explore the space we can reach on conventional and warp engines. The system we are in appears to be stable, and likely contains one or more Jump Points. Given the variety of traffic we have encountered it is probable these points are gated. Finding these may go a long way towards determining where we truly are. Stormhold does not seem to possess any pertinent information as a result of it being derelict, but if we find another such facility or more active bases we need to secure intelligence.

    MISSION PLANNING:
As we have no contact with Command we must operate on what we can see and encounter in this unknown location. Our primary “mission” is to acquaint ourselves with local conditions and avoid losing our heads in the process. The chain of command will no doubt have orders for us when we get back to them. Hopefully that includes beds and rations, as even the Grant’s supply is going to be limited out here in space.

We have successfully established a refueling point at Stormhold. Imminent priorities besides our defense include securing a stable supply of resources to replenish our heavy and exotic ordnance stockpiles as well as ensuring a stable supply of equipment for personnel.

    TACTICAL RECOMMENDATIONS:
Until we have secured the necessary resources, it is critical to ration the usage of heavy ordnance and P-Shocks. Grant has a stockpile of such warheads but it is limited and vessels should not expect resupply of heavy torpedoes once they have deployed them. It is advised that ships primarily deploy homing torpedoes due to their ease of manufacture, both on the Grant and in the field.
Officers should prioritize forcing the retreat of hostile contacts encountered. However it has been determined that many of the locals seem unwilling to surrender. Our defense takes priority in such cases.
