The Command Centre communication channel provides facilities for both internal, inter-department communication as well as external communications with other Divisions and Fleet HQ. This protocol outlines standard formats for communications.
Internal Communications
When communicating internally, it is important to title communications appropriately so they are directed to the correct department or personnel.
All internal communications must be prefixed with the letters ‘INT’.
Next, the department must be defined using a shorthand form. Below is a list of departments:
INTEL. – Intelligence Department
MAINT. – Maintenance and Engineering Department
SUPP. – Supply and Logistics Department
PERSN. – Personnel and Training Department
CMD – Division HQ
If required, a specific person can be indicated. This is added after the department name.
Finally, the topic title can be added.
No spaces should be used, instead the > symbol is used to break up the title.
Example titles:
INT.>INTEL.>Intelligence Update Request
INT.>SUPP.>Cpt Smith>Supply Report Request
INT.>CMD.>Intelligence Update
External Communications
External communications are defined as those going to sources outside of the Division. A similar format is followed and is outlined below:
All external communications should be prefixed with EXT.
Next, the target must be defined using a shorthand form. Below is a list of potential targets:
2FLTHQ – 2nd Fleet Command
1DVSN – 1st Division
3LDVSN – 3rd Light Division
