In honor of our new experimental interceptor, I thought I’d throw this together:
I’d have asked Flasheart to do it, but I noticed he hasn’t been on for several months, so I took it upon myself. Hope you all like it! 🙂

Would it be possible to use something that looks less like an armoured knight silhouette and more like a light lancer from the 19th century? I will see if I can find some examples.OK. Some googling explains. The US references to “lancer” images bring up armoured knights and roman cavalry. In British English it specifically means the flashy uniformed light cavalry of the horse and musket era. It is a light, fast and dashing image, not the heavy, armoured kind. Specifically see things like Polish Lancers and Bengal Lancers. Googling Napoleonic Lancers will give some idea though I could not see an awesome silhouette.
Sorry, but that looks awfully like a St. George and the Dragon pose. The helm and cloak are too mediaeval. 🙁
Alright, as per Matsiyan’s request I worked some photoshop magic and put together a logo (2 versions of it) with a 19th Century British Light Lancer silhouette on it. I liked the suggestion as it makes sense with the vessel: Quick, not heavily armored, intended to swoop in and intercept rather than be in the thick of a fight.
One variant has a colored flag on the spear, the other non-colored.
Give me further feedback and lets see if we can settle on one so I can make a paint job for the vessel. 🙂

// sorry it took me so long to notice this. (I forgot to subscribe to this thread.) I really like this. It is dynamic and yet is true to the sense of the name. I love the way you silhouetted it and fitted it into the frame. The sense of urgency and impact leading up to the lance point is cool.
The real test is whether our C.O. Commander Jemel will buy into it.
