TSN Academy
Stardate 26916-2237Well. This week has sure been interesting. Evidently, Thompson’s caught wind of rumors that we’ll be getting our first set of active-environment assignments sometime this week. According to his “intel”, my training group will be assigned to the Fourth Light Division of the Second Fleet. Thompson’s, on the other hand, will be heading off somewhere with the First Fleet. Thank the ancestors–it’ll be nice getting away from Thompson’s snobbish “better-than-you” attitude. I mean, yes, your father may be grooming you to be a senior officer within his fleet, but we heard you the first time. And the second. And the third. And the–

–and the four thousand, six hundred thirty-ninth time. Just stop bragging about it, already!
Okay, and I need to stop ranting about Thompson. It’s really not healthy. Let’s see, where was I? Ah, yes. Our possible assignments. Personally, I’m hoping for a Comms assignment on the TSN Lancer, but I know that that’s probably nowhere near what’ll actually happen. With my luck, I’ll be stuck on some clunky old transport, pulling SciComms with half a comms array down. But any assignment’s better than no assignment, I suppo– Wha–

[Recording resumed]Aaand I’m back. I’ve dumped Thompson in an empty shower stall and left the water on as cold as it could get, but that’ll be his problem, not mine. Although I probably should get some sleep. If I fail out of the Academy, even that rusty transport will be a distant dream.

Also, I think it’s pretty clear the log got away from me. Sorry.//Oh! This is a first I’ve seen: a log before the first mission. I’m really glad you wrote this. I anticipate you’ll fit in quite nicely with the rest of us role-players in here. 🙂
