Bug: vesselData.xml says “See GitHub reference for patch notes” but there is no easily accessible link to the repo (checked vesselData, README.md, and TSN Expansion Read Me.txt)
Bug: Version number in TSN Expansion Read Me.txt is incorrect.
Nit: Development notes are of mixed use. “Added Orion vessel”, “Added ScoutMk2 SNT”, “Changed lettercase:…[Read more]
Bug: Server crashes when a game is run using an Orion-class ship.
Anticipated cause: Ordnance name comments in the Orion-class definition are not correctly escaped. XML comments should formatted like this

Lt-Jr. Avirson, Cdr. Vaj,
What is the status of the Karvaach Class project submission?
Is it in a state to be tested?
Can the resources files now be pulled into a development mod patch for testing?
what are you using to edit these texts?
– comments are not properly delimited
– quotation marks are not the standard character for a double quote (Is this from MS-Word?)
– nothing is indented
This makes it a bit of extra work to get into a standard vesseldata file.
If you could provide a vesselData.xml file in the same format you find…[Read more]
To address this I am including a correction in a forthcoming dev test. To be paranoid, I have set the back shields of all base-like hulls to the same as the front in case the sandbox spawns them as a ship instead of a station.
Let me know if this is not such a good idea.
I have taken up this vesseldata entry for inclusion in an upcoming dev version.
Please note that comments begin and end with DOUBLE hyphens, not single ones.
It would be most helpful to take an existing vesseldata file entry and edit it and submit it (or indeed the whole file) as a plain text file attachment.
Let me know if this is…[Read more]
The briefing is intended to recap the strategic situation, recent events and impact on rules of engagement and adaptations of tactical doctrine.
It should provide background on what the upcoming missions are about, why and how they will be fought.
It is also an opportunity to create a little roleplay atmosphere and to cover…[Read more]
It would be more correct to say that things are “repeated” in Discord. Mission Briefing and all admin announcements, like promotions and awards, are always given in Teamspeak verbally.
We are trying to return to the practice of always publishing an “ONI report” on this forum that summarizes the situation after the previous…[Read more]
Can you post a beam diagram for reference?
Despite having above average shields, the damage seems a little anemic to match what comes to mind for a knife fighter. For this ship, I think I’d be tempted to push the point defense beams up to 1 point of damage each so that you aren’t loading most of the offensive capacity in the long range beam. This…[Read more]
Updates from today’s discussion:
– Pshock count dropping to 1, to prevent the Scout Mk2 from turning into Horizon-lite. Plus it still has plenty of beacons (and the second tube) to serve as an anti-biological platform when such a need arises.
– Changing the rear point defense beam to a ~300 degree, forward facing beam. I was originally concerned…[Read more]
The current iteration of the Scout has extremely poor offensive capability and terrible staying power. It’s more of a in system scout craft than one meant to be attached to a light division. Combat data taken from a recent sortie of the TSN Hunter has lead to the following conclusions, relative to the current incarnation:
– Increased turn rate
