Here it is!
Questions and ooc feedback to be posted here please 😉
Lets see how this works out.

You might want to link character sheet building spreadsheet, as well.

31/07/2016 at 03:39 #14793Adele MundyParticipantLooks fascinating. How are the teams chosen? Or are they random?
31/07/2016 at 07:36 #14807XavierKeymasterGood question. I have posted a response on the holodeck thread. It should give a suitable way of choosing pairs.
For those who haven’t seen it, the holodeck forum is a sub-forum of Promethean Command. Head over there to join the game.
31/07/2016 at 19:48 #14876MatsiyanParticipantBack to the character sheet: how it so bat training increased? Is a Confident or Expert choice used to increase the sub-specializations from the regular module training progression?
31/07/2016 at 19:55 #14878Blaze StrifeParticipantCombat training works like this (as I understood Xavier’s document):
- All officers are Trained by default. This is the minimum.
- You can choose to be Confident in Combat Training. If you are, all sub-modules become Confident.
- If you’re Confident in Combat Training, you can choose to push one sub-module to Expert, while reducing another to Trained.
- The average rank of the sub-modules must be the same as the rank of Combat Training.
It’s unclear if you can choose two sub-modules to be an Expert in.
It’s unclear if you can reduce one sub-module to Basic.31/07/2016 at 20:30 #14881XavierKeymasterExample 2:
A lieutenant chooses not to boost combat training to ‘Condifent’. The officer does however want to specialise in close combat. Therefore, the officer boosts close combat to Confident. As a result, one of the combat training sub-modules must be reduced to Basic level.
Addition notes: You cannot become Expert in two Combat Training sub-modules when first setting up your character as you are only allowed to boost one when specialising.
Hope this helps.
31/07/2016 at 20:54 #14883Blaze StrifeParticipantYeah, it helps. I’ll modify the spreadsheet soon.
31/07/2016 at 21:20 #14885Blaze StrifeParticipantUmmm… I don’t know who has been playing with the spreadsheet (other than Matsiyan in his own column), but why did someone put “+1” for all Points allowed?
31/07/2016 at 21:25 #14887Blaze StrifeParticipantI’ve fixed the Combat modules and a bug I had in another place.
@matsiyan, I didn’t touch your Processing column, so when you want to run a check against the updated system, either copy a column in Processing from Adele, or create a “new officer”.01/08/2016 at 00:11 #14897MatsiyanParticipantApologies Blaze, the changes were me, I was convinced I had better understood the combat training and made changes to confirm my understanding. After that I became confused. NOrmally I just mess with my own column until I am sure of the change. I got it wrong this time.
I am still completely confused about increasing levels of Combat training.
A character can choose to be overall combat Trained or Confident, no cost difference. (Or is this my basic misunderstanding and only one of the sub-levels can be Confident?)
The sub modules start off by averaging to Trained or Confident, one may be higher if one is lower.
Raising Combat Training is done by raising sub-levels. THe overall level corresponds to the rounded average of the sub-levels.
How can a sub-level be increased? Is this only awarded in play by a GM and nothing to do with the number of modules known and related number of Confident and Expert levels derived from Rank?
Or are the Confident and Expert levels, awarded as part of rank-related modules-known, used to boost Combat sub-levels?
The wording is ambiguous (as I read it).
Help! I really want to understand.
01/08/2016 at 06:16 #14926Blaze StrifeParticipantAs far as I can tell, Combat Training doesn’t spend points. It’s simply one’s choice whether to boost it to Confident or not. We’re probably not all going to min-max, so I don’t expect everyone will boost as high as it goes just because they can.
The sub-modules can probably be increased through play, just like the rest of the modules. And it probably doesn’t relate to number of one’s rank, or Minor and Major modules, since those are point related.
01/08/2016 at 18:28 #14938XavierKeymasterCan someone clarify what they mean by ‘Material Science’? I just need to know your thinking so I know how to apply it to the forums game.
Any feedback on the GM side of things? I have been able to check in regularly but have been waiting for more dialogue and action between characters.
Does the game feel to be progressing? I was wondering if I should have given the background scenario. I was thinking of leaving it for you to work out though. Would it be easier/better with background info?
01/08/2016 at 18:56 #14940Blaze StrifeParticipantI thought it was you who put Material Science.
You’re doing a good job as a GM in the thread, in my opinion. Maybe you can post a tiny detail every time you’re able to check the posts and there were 2-3 post from other people? Like confirming we hear each other, and little things like that.
The game is currently not really progressing, since we’re moving slowly, but it has the potential to be an interesting experience.
The background info is not necessary, as long as this really is a holodeck-like game, rather than real imprisonment. If it’s a game, than us figuring out why we’re there is a challenge in itself.
01/08/2016 at 18:59 #14942MatsiyanParticipantI thought
arterialMaterial Science was in your original list. If you don’t see a GM use then by all means eliminate it.I was assuming it might be relevant to structural engineering, fuels, exotic drive components (Denabite?), asteroid mining, hull materials, replicator “inks”, electronics components, weapon system components, A-hafnium, unobtainium and handwavium.
