Random name new accounts

I’ve noticed recently that we’ve had a few accounts that seem to be random 8-character names. Are these actually new/returning officers who just happen to have chosen names like that, or do we need a better authentication method for new accounts?

I only see one and it has a picture uploaded. Has someone already pruned them?

Looks like they’ve been pruned. I was looking at the Officers link under Comms, and there were 4 or 5 names that just seemed random. They’re no longer in the list.

Yes, keep getting similar accounts trying to create new user accounts. I mop them up every so often and have blacklisted a few.
