4HG tasked to escort Commodore Miles Holbrook from Halima Station Cerberus 7 to receive imperial awards for his counter-insurgency work. Death threats have been received that he should face a fair and impartial independent trial before his hanging. TSN attempted to capture him or destroy his transport. Invictus collected the officer but while on the shuttle he was spotted wearing a suicide vest of highly advanced design and the shuttle pilot barely had time to space him before he and his luggage effectively turned into armed mines. It was a miracle that Invictus and Odysseus survived. The real commodore barricaded himself inside a secure office when insurgents attempted to assassinate him. Invictus and Excision put their marines aboard to extricate him. They then found themselves too busy fending off TSN and Pirate attacks to recover their marine detachments. Their efforts were successful in capturing one TSN ship and taking her crew into custody, Relentless stepped in and retrieved her sister ships’ stranded marines and the Commodore. The TSN put up an extremely determined fight. Invictus, already suffering malfunctions from recent frequent battle damage, suffered a systems outage from friendly fire when Relentless hit her with collateral damage from an Echo manoeuvre.
4HG escorted a scientific flotilla into the Poseidon Rift, acting on information retrieved during the prior shift from R-56X regarding methods of triangulating on a Kralian Holy Relic Forerunner Artifact. Navigation in the Rift was extremely hazardous. As her systems had been patched multiple times without a proper dry-dock to overhaul them, Invictus was especially susceptible to the opposing gravimetric forces within the Rift and suffered damage to multiple systems. A Kralien task force attempted to prevent the convoy arriving. Cosmozoans of various types investigated the scientific flotilla. Some were engaged, some were driven off using a repellant beacon. Caltrons were attracted by the active sensor sweeps tuned to the Artifact’s interaction protocols. Kraliens again attempted to interfere.

CURRENT GROUP INTELLIGENCE:
Sensor readings of interactions with “Rit al’Knaph’s Mirror” are now in safekeeping with Navy R&D. They will conduct research on the object’s properties to determine any special insights or uses it may have. It is unlikely the xeno relic will provide any useful or new information that our Terran scientists aren’t already aware of, but our possession of this data deals a substantial morale blow to the Kraliens as we continue to drive them out of the Spinward Marches.MISSION PLANNING:
TACTICAL RECOMMENDATIONS:
Senatorial Traitor forces appear to be increasing in stature and number, as the recent events have dictated. All officers are reminded of the fact that the phaser arrays in use by human forces are on average substantially more potent than, say, Kralien particle beamers. Special care should be taken around TSN patrol destroyers — despite their small size and lack of substantial high speed capabilities, their beamers are capital-grade, and capable of significant firepower. Likewise, traitor fleet craft should be treated as hunter-killer equivalent units, as they may perform warp combat maneuvers at any time. Deployment of hostile torpedoes and mines is also a potential factor.Our Stellar Cartography and navigation systems may need updating and/or recalibration, as navigation between sectors within the Poseidon Rift was not as by-the-books as we are used to. Whether this has to do with this alternate universe we have found ourselves in or it is a result of our own systems has yet to be determined.
Caution is advised when engaging Pirate fighter strike forces individually, as reports have been received that these Pirate scum have successfully miniaturized their tractor beam emitters and installed them on many of their single-seat craft to terrible effect.
