OPERATIONAL DEBRIEFING FOLLOWS….

Fleet Captain Xavier returned from Hjorden carrying orders to avoid further confrontation with the Rumarian sophonts by recalling all USFP assets. Two of three convoys were safely escorted through the Gate by Hjorden cruisers while 4LD ran interceptions on Rumarian hunters. Gravitational waves increased the difficulty of combat manoevres and eventually destabilized the Gate. USFP forces collected into a mutual support formation and diverted all power to life-support and mutual shield support.
After the gravitational storm abated, the jump point was found to be absent. The gate hardware was disassembled for storage and to avoid Rumarian interference the expedition retreated into a neighbouring corrosive nebula with shields tuned to minimize the effect. Rumarian activity ceased but the division cannot remain in the nebula indefinitely.

Retreat from Rumarian territory is not currently possible.

MISSION PLANNING:
Locate survival resources, defendable location and exits from the Arcturus system.

TACTICAL RECOMMENDATIONS:
Systems maintenance and endurance are of primary importance. All care should be taken to minimize damage to any system.
Xenology and Astrogation from first principles should be revised.
Rapid execution of fleet orders should be practiced to ensure windows of tactical opportunity are not lost and that disengagement can be executed on a hair-trigger.
4LD is relying on supply ships to re-arm ordnance and supplies. To allow the replicator systems to prioritize production of materiel necessary to secure and maintain our presence in this region, care should be taken to minimize expenditure of finite resources as much as possible. Recovery of biologic beacons for recharge and reprogramming should be performed whenever possible.
